
Coach Aliyu Zubairu has rated Nasarawa United high despite his side’s comprehensive triumph for his Gombe United side in Monday’s MatchDay 22 fixture.
Gombe’s impressive run of form continued as they produced an all-around performance to beat Nasarawa United 3-1 in the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
Zubairu reaction during the post-match interview was to rate the opposite team high for having a good share of the possession in the cause of the entertaining encounter.
“There was anxiety ahead of the game and as anticipated it was very tough and this is the first game that we were almost dragged in terms of game play.
“At every point they had the ball, they want to attack and not defending. That gave us a very tough situation and made them a very difficult side to play”, Zubairu told www.npfl.ng
Abdulazeez Yusuf netted his 9th goal of the season after opening the scoring for the Savannah Scorpions off an Aminu Muhammed diagonal assist before the break.

The result means Gombe United moved two places on the log from 11th to 9th while Nasarawa United dropped one place to 10th position.
Gombe United will welcome Akwa United for their second home game while Nasarawa United will play a home game against Remo Stars in their adopted Zaria Road Stadium in Jos next weekend.
