Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice as Portugal thrashed Bosnia-Herzegovina in a one-sided Euro 2024 qualifier.
The 38-year-old put Portugal ahead with a penalty before scoring his 127th international goal to make it 2-0.
Portugal scored all five of their goals in the first half to continue their perfect record of eight qualifying wins in eight games, inflicting the joint-heaviest ever defeat on the hosts in the process. Bruno Fernandes, Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix also struck.
The result means Portugal, who sealed qualification on Friday, stay top of Group J with a 100% record.
They have scored 32 goals and conceded just twice in their eight games so far, with Ronaldo netting nine in his seven appearances during the campaign.
While Portugal have top place sealed, Bosnia and Herzegovina are second from bottom, seven points adrift of second-placed Slovakia with just two games remaining.
Savo Milosevic’s side are, however, guaranteed a play-off place after winning their UEFA Nations League group.
[…] Ronaldo also has five UEFA Champions League winners’ medals and led Portugal to victory at the 2016 UEFA European Championship and 2019 UEFA Nations League tournaments. […]
