NBA Playoffs: Warriors overturn deficit to beat Mavericks in Game 2

On Friday night at Chase Center, the Golden State Warriors overcame a 19-point deficit to upset the Dallas Mavericks in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals, thesportsbay.com reports.

With 42 points, Luka Doncic topped all scorers, but he was unable to secure a road victory ahead of Game 3 in Dallas. The Mavericks are down 2-0 in the series, as they were against the Phoenix Suns in the last round.

Dallas led by 14 points at the halftime break, having dominated the first half. Golden State then limited the visitors to a 13-point third quarter, and Otto Porter Jr.’s first bucket of the fourth handed the Warriors their first lead of the night.

The Warriors never trailed in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Mavericks 43-32 in the final 12 minutes of action. Curry scored 32 points on the night, including a game-winning triple down the line.

Klay Thompson struggled from the field, but he still tallied 15 points in 37 minutes. Jordan Poole exploded for 23 points in 29 minutes in the fourth quarter.

Kevon Looney had a double-double, scoring 21 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Andrew Wiggins scored 16 points in the fourth quarter, and Draymond Green fouled out.

Only Jalen Brunson (31 points), Reggie Bullock (21) and Dorian Finney-Smith (10) score in double figures for the Mavs. The victory for the Dubs was a tale of two halves, with the Mavericks crashing out in the final half following a thrilling first half.

American Airlines Center will host the next two games. Game 3 is set to begin at 6:00 p.m. PT on Sunday, May 22 according to NBA.com schedules.
