Randy Waldrum has revealed that he would have left his role as Super Falcons coach a long time ago but for his players.
He further said the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) response to his previous statements were childish while speaking On The Whistle Podcast.
“I saw the NFF response to my previous comments on the other podcast and it just seemed like a really childish response. In the two-and-a-half years that I have been here, I have never had one time that the federation came to me and asked “What do you need coach?’
“What keeps me going is the players, otherwise, I would have walked away from this job a long time ago.
“Up until about three weeks ago, I had been owed 14 months salary and then they paid 7 months salary. We still have players that haven’t been paid since 2 years ago when we played the summer series in the USA. It is a travesty,” he said.
In a swift response, the NFF through its media director, Ademola Olajire labelled him the worst coach for the Super Falcons ever.
“Incompetent loudmouth found his voice now he is about to achieve his only ambition of leading a team at the world cup. His entire objective has always been to add a leading a team at the world cup to his CV. Worst coach to have handled the Super Falcons of Nigeria by a country mile, Olajire said.
