
The Super Eagles camp in Uyo is now buzzing with excitement as all the players have arrived ahead of the AFCON qualification game against Sao Tome and Principe on Sunday.
The camp opened on Wednesday morning, and the players wasted no time in joining the team. They took advantage of the 72-hour rest period after their league games on Sunday to plan their travel and arrive in Uyo.
Among the first batch of players to touch down at the Victor Attach International Airport were Francis Uzoho, Adebayo Adeleye, Tyrone Ebuehi, Raphael Onyedika, Jordan Torunarigha, Victor Boniface, and Gift Orban. Throughout the day, more players arrived and were warmly received by the Akwa-Ibom State FA Normalization Committee.
By early afternoon, all 23 players had checked into their hotel, Four Points by Sheraton, and had time to relax before the first training session at 5pm.
The team’s head coach, Jose Peseiro, arrived in Uyo on Tuesday, along with his assistants, to prepare for the team’s arrival.
The highly anticipated game between Nigeria and Sao Tome and Principe will take place at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Sunday, September 10, 2023.
