Former Super Eagles defense marshal, Taribo West has acknowledged the technical abilities of the national under-17 football team, Golden Eaglets.
West, who paid a surprise visit to the training session of the team at the FIFA Goal project, MKO Abiola stadium on Wednesday.
According to the Atlanta ’96 Olympics football gold medalist, the future of football in Nigeria is very bright as he watched the Eaglets displayed sublime football artistry all through the training session under the tutelage of the technical crew of the team.
“I saw a very bright future generation of Nigerian players. I was very impressed and couple of them are also in the NFF Under 15.
“These are fantastic players without any doubt and I believe that Nigeria in the future will be able to reproduce the likes of Daniel Amokachi, Kanu Nwankwo, Austin Okocha and the rest of us.” Taribo said.
“If they can apply the instructions of their coaches at every game in Brazil, the team will bring back the FIFA Under 17 trophy.
“The team is physically fit and I saw a strong coordination among the players and their connectivity was very outstanding,” he added.
“So, this team has a great future and I can bet on the team. The players are very strong physically. The team just need some trial matches, take them abroad to expose them and the players will do the needful,” he said.
