The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will launch his campaign in Kano with the gathering of Super Eagles Legends in the state, thesportsbay.com reports.
Baffa Babba, the director of the Tinubu/Shettima campaign support organization On Tuesday, Dan’Agundi made this announcement, stating that Abba Umar Ganduje, the party’s nominee for the Dawakin Tofa/Rimingado/Tofa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, would host the football superstars on December 10 according to Daily Trust.
According to Dan’Agundi, the legends would play the part of urging supporters all around the nation to vote for Tinubu and Kashim Shettima.
“President Muhammadu Buhari will be the special guest on the occasion,” he added.
The director also noted that the preparations are in top gear with the local organizing committee in Kano with the blessings of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Recall that youths and support groups of the APC candidate recently held a one-million-man PVC rally in the state, which analysts say remains a very complex state that can swing victory for any of the top candidates.
It will be recalled in March, former Nigeria’s international football players commended Tinubu, for his contributions to democracy and good governance as well as sports development in the country when they visited him in Lagos to congratulate him on his 70th birthday which was celebrated on March 29.
The ex-Super Eagles players included former Eagles’ goalkeepers, Peter Rufai, Ike Shorunmu and Dosu Joseph, ex-Eagles’ captains Austin JJ Okocha and Nwankwo Kanu, defenders Taribo West and Uche Okechukwu, Obafemi Martins, Tijani Babangida, Victor Ikpeba and Mutiu Adepoju.
