The Paul Offor-led team welcomed the Savannah Tigers to the Onikan Stadium brimming with confidence due to their bright start to the league.

The forward line led by Junior Lokosa put in the pressure early in the game but the Doma United goalkeeper was brilliant to deny the hosts a goal.

Doma in their own right created rare chances in the second half and would have scored also but for Christian Nwoke who made two brilliant saves from point-blank range to ensure the game ended 0-0.

In the same vein, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan fought from a goal down to defeat Gombe United Football Club 2-1 at the Lekan Salami Stadium.

The hosts displayed great resilience and determination as they fought back against the visitors. Team captain Taofeek Malomo played a pivotal role in their comeback, scoring two goals to secure the full points for the game.

Initially, the visitors took the lead through Bala Aliko’s well-placed shot that wrong-footed the goalkeeper. This early setback motivated the Gombe United side to push for more goals, despite struggling to contain the hosts’ strong offensive start.

However, the hosts, although affected by the reduced noise from the crowd, rose to the challenge and managed to regain control of the game.

Malomo, who was leading the charge in the offensive plays, made a significant impact in the 54th minute by scoring a goal to draw his team level. With a well-placed low shot, he found the back of the net, capitalizing on Mumini Abdulkareem’s pass.

As the game progressed, the hosts continued to apply pressure, determined to secure the victory. It was only fitting that their team captain, Malomo, once again played a crucial role in sealing the win. In the 89th minute, he scored a magnificent low volley in the goal area, securing their second consecutive home win and their second victory out of three games.
