Nigerian long jumper, Ruth Usoro has secured her first professional win at the Meeting Citta’ Di Padova in Italy.
She leaped an impressive distance of 6.75m (0.1), outshining the competition. Neja Filipic from Croatia came in second with a jump of 6.18m.
Usoro’s exceptional performance demonstrated her dominance in the event, as any of her five legal jumps would have been enough to secure the victory.
This win is a significant confidence boost for her professional career, especially after narrowly missing the final by 0.1m at the World Championships in Budapest, where she finished thirteenth overall.
As a standout athlete for Texas Tech University, Usoro is now focused on building on this momentum in her upcoming meets and ending the season on a high note.
Her debut professional season in 2023 has been remarkable, and she aims to continue her success in the future.
