Plateau Utd, Pillars blow hot after suffering ‘continental’ defeats

Following their continental defeats over the weekend, Plateau United and Kano Pillars have vowed to overturn the results and qualify for the next round of the CAF competitions. The SportsBay reports.

“Good game against Simba SC they play good football, but they are not invincible, they are just a few inches ahead of us because they’ve played 11 league games before now.

“We have done it before, I believe we can do it again winning away from home. We only need your support.

“We only need your support and trust. We still have another 90 minutes to decide who move to the next round,” the manager of Plateau United, Abdul Maikaba said.

In the same vein, Kano Pillars have been charged to be focused on how to move to the second round in the ongoing 2020/2021 CAF confederation cup.

According to the chairman of the club Alhaji Surajo Shaaibu Yahaya Jambul while addressing the players and technical crew before their departure to Kaduna ahead of the preliminary second leg on Saturday charged them to forget the 3-1 loss to ASC Jaraaf and concentrate how to cancel those deficit goals.

On his part the captain of the club Rabi’u Ali said they had put the loss behind them and are confident on their qualification for the next round.

Rabi’u Ali said they have confidence and ever ready to score the goals that would give smiles to the faces of good people of the state and their fans across the globe on Saturday.

“We know our fans are not happy with our result in the first leg were we lost 3-1 against ASC Jaraaf Fc last Saturday but let them be patients.

“That is football you can win, draw or loss but by God grace the second leg will be different,” Rabi’u emphasized.
