After a 3-1 win over Wikki Tourists in Jos, Plateau United closed the gap on league leaders Rivers United.

Jesse Akila put the hosts ahead in the 24th minute, but three minutes later, Wikki equalized through Ridwan Adeshina.

Plateau United took the lead for the first time in the 50th minute. In the 66th minute, Akila scored his second goal of the game.

Four goals were recorded in Ilorin for the first time in the NPFL since Kwara United defeated Wikki Tourists 3-1 in July 2021 at the Kwara Sports Complex to improve their prospects of winning a continental ticket.

For the home team, Samad Kadiri, Issa Gata, and Ayobami Junior all scored. Opeoluwa Olufemi reduced the deficit by 90 minutes on the stroke.

At a closely contested match in Ikenne, Remo Stars defeated Rangers 1-0. Sikiru Alimi scored the game-winner four minutes before halftime.

At the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, Katsina United defeated Nasarawa United 1-0, with Adebayo Waheed scoring the game-winning goal on 23 minutes.

At the Akure Sports Complex, Sunshine Stars were held to a 0-0 draw by Akwa United.

With a 2-1 win over Kano Pillars in Ijebu Ode, MFM kept their slim chances of avoiding relegation alive.

Tunde Azeez opened the scoring for the church boys, but Jerry Alex equalized for Pillars before halftime.

Oladayo Alabi made it 2-1 minutes after play resumed, and they held on for the win.

The Niger Tornadoes continued their outstanding record in Kaduna on Saturday, defeating Gombe United 1-0. Despite his team being down a man for most of the second half, Munir Idris scored the game’s sole goal.

Enyimba defeated Lobi Stars 2-1 on Saturday, making it a day of Samuels in Aba.

Samuel Kalu gave the home side the lead before replacement Samuel Stone made it 2-0, but the visitors still had time to score a consolation goal through Samuel Ganda.
