The anticipated move of Joao Palhinha from Fulham to Bayern Munich has unfortunately fallen through, even after the midfielder underwent a medical examination in Germany.

Palhinha, who is 28 years old, was given permission to travel to Germany with the understanding that Fulham would secure a replacement before approving the transfer.

However, Fulham was unable to bring in a new player, and the German transfer window closed without a deal being finalized.

On the other hand, there is positive news for Everton’s Alex Iwobi, as he is set to undergo a medical examination after Fulham agreed to a potential £22 million deal.

Iwobi, who is 27 years old and a Nigerian midfielder, joined Everton from Arsenal in the summer of 2019 and has made 123 league appearances, scoring six goals.

The collapse of the Palhinha deal is a disappointment for both the player, who had aspirations of playing in the Champions League, and Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel, who saw him as a valuable addition to the team after acquiring England captain Harry Kane.

Bayern was willing to offer a substantial amount, potentially exceeding £65 million, which would have been a club-record fee for Fulham.

However, Fulham stood firm and refused to part ways with one of their influential players until they had strengthened that particular area of Marco Silva’s team.

The 27-year-old Nigeria midfielder joined Everton from Arsenal in the summer of 2019 and has made 123 league appearances, scoring six times.

Heads up!
