Esther Nworgu has set a new World Record in Para Powerlifting at the Delta 2022 National Sports Festival in Asaba, Delta State, thesportsbay.com reports.
She broke her own record of 114 kg set earlier this year at the African Para Powerlifting Championship held in Cairo, Egypt, by lifting 115 kg in the women’s 41 kg division.
Ganiyu Anifat from Osun took bronze, while Arekemase Omowunmi from Delta won silver.
In a same vein, Tijani Latifat of Ogun State won the gold medal in the 45 kg female powerlifting division.
Ogundoye Tolu from Ondo took bronze, while Abokin Loveth from Edo won silver.
