Kano Pillars in the first game of the day defeated IfeanyiUbah FC by a lone goal scored by Auwalu Ali Malam to condemn them to their second defeat at home this season at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt.

In the same vein, Rivers United defeated Nasarawa United 2-0 to maintain their 2nd position.
The oil-rich club got the first goal Malachi Ohawume ran onto a beautiful lob by Fortune Omoniwari and came one on one with the goal goalkeeper.
His initial attempt over the goalkeeper hit the post and he benefitted from the rebound to head in the opener in the 7th minute.
In the 73rd minute, Nelson Esor doubled the lead for the home team after benefiting from GK Danlami Umar’s failure to deal with Bakary Bamba’s free-kick to score.
Nasarawa had their best chance in the 79th minute to pull a goal back as Silas Nwankwo was through on goal but with only the goalkeeper to beat, he fired over under pressure from Ifeanyi Anaemena.
With this victory, Rivers United have maintained their 100% home record against the Solid Miners.
