Nigerian senate throws weight behind Kunav Football League

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Sports, Senator Obinna Ogba, on Monday endorsed the Kunav Football League as well as all activities of the Vandeikya Local Government Football Council.

Senator Ogba made the endorsement when the Chairman, Vandeikya Local Government Football Council, Mr. Robert Terlumun Akpenpuun presented him the maiden Newsletter of the Council in his office at the National Assembly.

The Senator commended the efforts of the council led by Akpenpuun in ensuring the development of grassroots football in his locality.

He urged him not to rest on his oars until success is achieved for the good of the game in the country.

Akpenpuun thanked the Senator for the endorsement, promising to continue to do his best for football development in Benue and indeed Nigeria.

It will be recalled that the Vandeikya Local Government Football Council (VLGFC) in November directed the resumption of the Kunav Football League (KFL) after the ban on sporting activities was lifted by the federal government.
