Finally, Nasarawa United win first league game

Nasarawa United on Saturday defeated struggling Kwara United 2-1 to win their first game in the ongoing 2022/23 abridged Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The Solid Miners had been winless for seven games, but Chinedu Ohanachom and King Osanga broke the run as the team won its first game of the season after seven at the new Jos Stadium.

Former junior international, King Osanga’s 10th goal minute provided his side confidence after he raffled home Joshua John’s long freekick.

Nasarawa United raced forward, buoyed by the goal, to score the consolation goal that they had missed in the first half.

At the start of the second half, Nasarawa United expanded their lead when King Osanga broke through the Kwara United defense to set up Chidera Nduka, who set up Chinedu Ohanachom to make it 2-0.

Following this game, Kwara United have failed to score in their past six road games and have only won one of their last 16 away games.

Heads up!
