Nasarawa United head coach, Usman Adams, says his team is still a work in progress ahead of the start of the 2023-24 Nigeria National League season.
It will be recalled that the club was relegated to the Nigeria National League after a 1-0 defeat against Kwara United in Akure on match-day 17 of the abridged 2022/23 Nigeria Professional Football League.
The Solid Miners have been scheduled for the league opener against Zamfara United, next Saturday at the Lafia City Stadium.
The newly appointed tactician assured that the team would be ready before kickoff.
It is the third return of Adams Usman as coach of Nasarawa United, having coached the Solid Miners in the past, in 2007, and between 2011/12.
“We are still a work in progress. If you watched very well, we are experimenting in different departments, especially on taking chances and closing the gaps when we are the defending side,” he told the club’s media
“We will still go back and look at other areas we need to fine-tune before the league kick-starts.”
“We hate to lose, even though it’s part of the game, but it’s my endless expectation that we begin the season on a winning note and sustain the tempo, going forward in the league.”
Nasarawa United are in Group C of the Northern Conference.
