In a dramatic turn of events, Chibuike Nwaiwu, a professional football player with Enyimba hitherto declared missing, has been found in Israel with a yet-to-be-identified club.
It will be noted that the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions, Enyimba, had declared him missing
The People’s Elephant, in a statement signed by their media manager, David Orji, stated that Nwaiwu has been away from the club without authorisation from the management.
Enyimba claimed that Nwaiwu is a bona fide player of the club, as he still has an existing contract and has not been released or freed to join any club.
The Aba giants further said Nwaiwu has breached his contractual obligations to the club and they shall activate disciplinary measures against him.
New pictures of Nwaiwu have surfaced, with the player training with a new club outside the shores of Africa, sparking wild questions amongst fans and media personalities on social media.
Nwaiwu joined the Aba giants from their oriental rivals, Heartland, in January 2022. He has been a regular in the team since his arrival.
Enyimba were knocked out of the maiden African Football League quarterfinals by Morrocan side Wydad Casablanca, losing both legs, but pocketed a million dollars in compensation for reaching that stage of the tournament.
