MFM FC have secured its 11th win of the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League season following a 2-1 victory over visiting Kano Pillars at the Soccer Temple, Agege on Wednesday during the Match Day 30 fixtures.
MFM who moved to 10th position got on the mark with a 17th-minute goal scored by Tosin Olubolola against the run of play.
In the 39th minute, the ‘Olukoya Boys’ had a great chance to increase their lead but Chimezie Izuchukwu fired high with just the opposing goalkeeper to beat.
However, all efforts to score the second goal paid off in the 64th minute through Adeyinka Najeem but legendary captain, Rabiu Ali pulled a goal back from the penalty spot in the 89th minute.
In the same vein, Enugu Rangers defeated Abia Warriors 2-1 at the Cathedral to secure its 14th league victory.
The home side had chased the game after going down to Yakub Hammed 43rd minute goal with Christian Nnaji and Elijah securing the maximum points for Rangers.
Meanwhile, Rivers United have condemned Plateau United to their 11th loss of the season with a 3-1 victory. Godwin Aguda, Malachi Ohawuma and Shedrack Oghali has scored the three goals in the first 56 minutes before Andrew Ikefe scored a consolatory goal in the 75th minute.
In Aba, it was a tough game as Enyimba who are without the services of influential Iwuala Anayo came from behind to earn a point. David Chimezie had put Warri Wolves in front in the 72nd minute but six minutes later, the ‘People’s Elephants’ through Austin Oladapo scored the equalizing goal as the game ended 1-1.
Adamawa United have continued to drop sinker further in the relegation waters after losing 3-0 away to IfeanyiUbah while Jigawa Golden Stars lost by a lone goal at home to visiting Katsina United.
In other matches, Lobi Stars defeated visiting Heartland 3-0 with Martin Ossy scoring a brace and Akile Monday scoring in between whole Sunshine Stars shone over Wikki Tourist with a slim victory in Akure.
Meanwhile, action continues on Thursday when Dakkada FC and league leaders, Akwa United take on Kwara United and Nasarawa United respectively.
