Kwara United have secured the maximum points against Enyimba FC in the rescheduled Match Day 2 of the ongoing 2020/21 Nigeria Professional Football League.
The game played at the Ilorin Township Stadium saw the home side opening scoring in the 5th minute through Steven Jude.
Stunned by the early goal, the former champions attempted to get back into the game but for an outstanding save from a former keeper, Dele Aiyenugba as he dived to his left to deny Stephen Manyo from levelling the score.
At the restart of the second half, Kwara United almost made it 2-nil when Ohanu Michael rounded Enyimba goalkeeper, John Noble but watched helplessly as the ball hit the woodwork.
With the defeat staring at their faces, Fatai Osho made some personnel changes to salvage the game and go back to Aba with at least a point.
Despite controlling the game for a large period of the game, the Elephants fell to their second league defeat.
Following this victory, Kwara have moved up to 9th position on the table with 8 points after securing their first home win this season while Enyimba remains unmoved on 5th position with 9 points.
Meanwhile, Rivers United are top of the table with 12 points closely followed by Nasarawa United and Lobi Stars who are on 11 and 10 points respectively.
