Nigeria have been handed a tough draw in the ITTF Team World Cup, which starts today (Wednesday) in Tokyo, Japan.
African champions Nigeria are in drawn in Group A, alongside world and Olympics champions China and Chinese Taipei respectively.
The tournament comprises 12 countries each in the men and women’s categories. The ITTF Team World Cup is a dress rehearsal for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo
Nigeria are Africa’s men’s representatives, while Egypt are representing Africa in the women’s category.
Japan, Austria and England are in Group B, while Germany, Brazil and Australia make up Group C.
Group D houses South Korea, Sweden and the US.
In Nigeria’s team are Aruna Quadri, Olajide Omotayo, Bode Abiodun, Segun Toriola and Azeez Solanke.
