The Chairman of Abia Warriors Pastor Emeka Inyama says the government will determine when football activities will resume in Nigeria.
Pastor Inyama made this known on Tuesday morning while speaking on Channels TV Sports program.
According to the Unuahia based club Chairman, the resumption of the NPFL will depend on the federal government.
“At the end of the day, everything will depend on the government, COVID-19 is not a matter of NFF, Ministry of Sports alone”
“It is for the federal government of Nigeria in trying to protect it’s citizens to decide when football should resume”. he noted.
The former Abia State Commissioner for Sports however revealed that the stakeolders in the NPFL had met to agree to finish the league by playing the remaining matches.
“We review the situation, we felt the clubs are ready to play, the clubs are ready to finish the season legally”.
The former NFF Board member also emphasized the need to be alive and healthy to play football, noting that there won’t be football without life.
