Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua, are bracing themselves up for the return of Odion Ighalo to the club with his loan deal at Manchester United coming to an end next month.
English tabloid to the Daily Star, reported that Ighalo won’t be joining another team in January and will return to his parents’ club in China at the end of the current deal which expires on January 31 as the Red Devils are not interested in further agreement for the player.
After a dream to his career at the club last season, Ighalo has failed to hold down a regulation shirt this season, with the manager prefer to play with Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial or Edison Cavani.
Ighalo has played just one minute of action since September. This late appearance came against Paris Saint-Germain at Old Trafford when he was sent on in injury time.
With just seven substitutes spots permitted, Ighalo has struggled to make the bench in Premier League matches.
Ighalo will hope for some involvement in the Carabao Cup quarter-final away at Everton next week. He started both previous matches in the competition against Luton and Brighton – although failed to score.
A busy festive schedule and a FA Cup tie at home to his former club Watford could see Ighalo make a few late appearances.
Ighalo is now expected to depart Old Trafford next month, he made just 12 appearances in the league and failed to score a single goal.
