Enyimba’s hopes of securing the second-place position on the Nigeria Professional Football League table went up in flames after drawing 1-1 with IfeanyiUbah FC on Thursday.
IfeanyiUbah’s Uzochukwu Ifejiofor had given his side the lead in the 30th minute and for large spells of the game held their ground against the 8-times NPFL champions.
However, their efforts of securing a rare victory over the People’s Elephants came crumbling when in the 86th minute, Nabil Yarou headed in Anayo Iwuala’s freekick to share the points as the game ended 1-1.
This game which was more of a loss to Enyimba saw them remaining in fourth position on 58 points while IfeanyiUbah are still rooted in the relegation waters with 35 points.
In the other games played, Dakkada FC further condemned Adamawa United to its 20th league loss with an emphatic 4-0 victory.
Dakkada got off the mark in the 20th minute through Austin Osayande before Sunday Awasa doubled the lead in the 28th minute.
As the game wore on, Jesan Uket made it 3-0 in the 86th minute while Rivio Ayemwenre finished the rout with a sublime goal in the 90th minute.
Kwara United also recorded a 3-1 victory over relegation threatened Wikki Tourist.
Micheal Ohanu was the star of the game following his hat-trick scored in the 19th, 44th and 48th minutes of the game while Tourist’s Chinedu Sunday scored a consolatory goal for his side in the 59th minute.
