Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has joked about France replacing the Eiffel Tower with a statue of him, France-based radio station RMC reported.
“It’s a big honor to have a statue in a great museum like the Grevin. I am very happy with it. The people can get really close to the statue and that was the objective,” Ibrahimovic said after coming face to face with a life-size waxwork of himself at the Grevin Museum in Paris.
“The next step? I don’t know … Maybe replacing the Eiffel Tower with an Ibrahimovic statue,” the Swedish footballer added.
The new statue makes Ibrahimovic the latest football figure to be immortalized in wax at the museum alongside Michel Platini, Thierry Henry, Zinedine Zidane, Pele and Ronaldo.
The 33-year-old, who was playing for Italy’s AC Milan, joined PSG in 2012. So far, he has scored 16 goals in 23 games in all competitions this season.
