Real Madrid midfielder, Toni Kroos has revealed he was sad when his now-former team mate Casemiro left the club.
It wil be recalled that the Brazilian star, Casemiro formed a strong midfield base with Kroos and Luka Modric prior to his departure to Manchester United.
In the summer of 2022, Casemiro was sold to Manchester United as that trio was broken up, in a move which shocked the German.
“I was surprised,” he said.
“I hadn’t seen signs and I didn’t know until the rumors started, but there are a lot of rumors here and a lot of times nothing happens.
“Then he told me and in the first moment I was a little sad because you just remember all the years you spent playing together, all the titles you won without ever losing a final. That isn’t normal, but in the end, this is how life in football works. There are players who leave and others, there is always a conclusion.”
In an interview with Movistar+’s ‘Universo Verdano’ program, the former Bayern Munich midfielder admitted that his success with Los Blancos means more than winning the World Cup in 2014.
“I prefer my five Champions League titles,” Kroos explained to Movistar+.
“It’s because of the quantity and because I always like consistency.
“Winning five in eight years is something very special. It isn’t a difficult question.”
