Scunthorpe United currently plays in Football League One, the third tier of the English football league system lost both of their recognised goalkeepers before half-time with broken arms as Bristol City earned a fourth straight win.
Sam Slocombe was replaced after eight minutes by Jamie Severn, who was hurt denying Matt Smith in a one-on-one.
Defender Andy Boyce then took over as keeper, having already conceded the penalty that allowed Jay Emmanuel-Thomas to convert from the spot.
“We’ve lost two goalkeepers in this game to the same injury – broken arms under a challenge from one of their players,” Robins told BBC Radio Humberside.
“I’m just massively disappointed and I’m disappointed for them because they’ve broken their arms.
“I’m disappointed for the players because they were the better team on the day.
