Enugu Rangers ready to hunt opponents down for NPFL glory

The management of Enugu Rangers have declared they are physically, psychologically, and mentally prepared to kickstart their 2022/23 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) campaign.

According to the administrative Secretary of Enugu Rangers, Barrister Ferdinand Ugwuarua who made this disclosure yesterday while speaking to journalists said the team has been strengthened with new signings.

“I am optimistic of the team achieving our set target at the end of this season. Quality players have been acquired to beef up our chances of playing continental football as well as emerging champions of the league.

“The management is working in tandem with the technical crew to see that we achieve what we set out to get as a show of appreciation to our supporters all over the world,” he said.

Ugwuarua further said Enugu Rangers are happy to play at the Awka City Stadium rather than their natural home.

The Flying Antelopes have been directed to play on the ground by the Interim Management Committee {IMC) after their original home ground, the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Stadium, Enugu was not deemed suitable to host matches by the IMC.

“No doubt, we would have loved to play before our numerous supporters and followers in Enugu at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium but with the renovation work yet to be completed, we have to move to Awka where we also enjoy large followership.

“However, I am optimistic that playing away from home will not affect our chances as we have a formidable squad to draw talents from,” he said.

In the same vein, Enugu Rangers technical adviser , coach Abdul Maikaba, stated that he has a massive squad from which to draw talents to defend the colors of the club in the abridged league with finishing amongst the top three teams in the group was the prime target from where they would challenge for the trophy and continental ticket.
