
Team Edo is on fire at the National Youth Games in Asaba as they have added more gold and bronze medals to their collection in the female cycling point race.
Godwin Osaretin of Edo broke records and won the gold, with Kwara’s Atanda Damola Hikmat taking silver and Edolite Ogbe Divine winning bronze.
In the Tennis singles female category, 12-year-old Lorelay Hoizendorff Senglide from Edo defeated her older opponent from Ekiti, Goodness Aina, to claim the gold medal.
Senglide, who was born in Germany, is determined to surpass the achievements of the Williams sisters in Tennis.
Team Edo’s medal count keeps rising, with four gold, five silver, and one bronze won on Wednesday. Delta and Lagos states are currently leading the medal table.
Edo’s impressive performance continued with gold medals in Chess and Teakwood events, as well as silver medals in Chess, Teakwood, and Darts Mixed Double events. They also secured a bronze in Teakwood events.
Edo’s athletes in the 400m deaf athletics have qualified for the semi-finals after shining in their events.
