Djokovic Dispatches Sergiy, Sets Up Clash With Karlovic

Despite the illness that prevented him from playing against Andy Murray in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, Novak Djokovic  showed his dexterity on the court as he needed just one hour and one minute to crush the Ukrainian Sergiy Stakhovsky 6-2 6-1 to make the third round of the Qatar Open in Doha

Djokovic lost just six points on his first serve during the impressive victory, and while three of those came in one game to give up a break point, the Serb staved off the danger en route to completing his victory.

“I have never played here before but I shall definitely be coming back next year,” said Djokovic, who is playing in the first week of the ATP World Tour for only the third time.

“And I’m feeling better!”

Next up for Djokovic is giant Croatian Ivo Karlovic, who passed 9,000 career aces in beating Nikoloz Basilashvili 7-6(3) 6-3.
