I'm not aware of Pinnick's third term agenda

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Sunday Dare has revealed that the President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has not informed him of plans to contest the much-anticipated elections.

Dare during an interactive session with journalists in Abuja further stated that he is not against his agenda if there is any but he believes the congress decision is supreme.

Following Nigeria’s inability to qualify for the 2022 World Cup, there was a great deal of pressure on Pinnick to leave, albeit it has since subsided.

While some advocated for his resignation, others supported the former head of the Delta State Sports Commission serving a third term.

Some people think Pinnick is considering running for a third term in office, a decision that some people fiercely oppose despite the fact that he publicly said he was dropping the third term bid after speaking with his family.

The Minister stated this when he said the congress of NFF will determine whether Pinnick will get a third term or not.

“I am not against Pinnick’s ambition though he has never told me that he is contesting but I have listened to interview where he said he is not contesting, so on the basis of that I am saying the right thing should be done,” he said.

He stated further that the crisis within the federation which has built up over the years necessitated President Muhammadu Buhari insisting that an election should be held in on or before September with major stakeholders being carried along to forestall any recurrence of what we had in the past’

‘We have done our part as government institution but now it is now left for NFF congress to decide their faith ‘ he concluded.
