Dakkada narrowly defeat Heartland in Uyo

Dakkada FC have secured a vital 1-0 victory over Heartland in the MatchDay 32 of the Nigeria Professional Football League at the Nest of Champions in Uyo yesterday.

The home side kicked off the game with enthusiasm and in the 8th minute, Heartland’s Kenneth Ikwugbado booked for a rash challenge on Isaac George while in the 30th minute, Dakkada’s Olawale Doyeni was booked for a foul on Kelechu Chimezie.

However, in the 33rd minute, the deadlock was broken after Dakkada’s Emmanuel Charles tapped in Isaac George’s cross beyond Heartland’s goalkeeper, Segun Fatunwasi.

At the restart of the second half, the home side seemed content with the lead just as Unwana Asuquo got booked for time-wasting in the 60th minute while the coach, Lawrence Kingsley was sent off for dissent in the 67th minute.

Meanwhile, action continues today when Abia Warriors welcome Kwara United as Enyimba will be guests of Akwa United.

Rivers United will avoid a defeat to Warri Wolves at home while Enugu Rangers will bank on the protection their home, The Cathedral gives them when Wikki Tourist visits.

IfeanyiUbah will be looking to avoid defeat to Nasarawa United at home while Jigawa Golden Stars will seek a memorable victory over Plateau United.

Lobi Stars will seek to further condemn Adamawa United to another crushing defeat just as MFM FC will pray their way to victory over Katsina United and Kano Pillars will seek to dim the stars of Sunshine Stars.
