Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed his dream of establishing himself as the greatest footballer in history by winning the most Ballon d’Or awards.
Ronaldo, 38, has won the Ballon d’Or five times, three less than Lionel Messi who picked up his 8th Golden Ball on Monday night in Paris.
Despite Messi winning the World Cup with Argentina and now picking up a record-extending 8th Ballon d’Or, the GOAT debate continues to rage on.
Ronaldo, on his part, revealed to controversial TV Personality Piers Morgan during an interview that his dream was to win more Ballon d’Or awards than anyone else.
“Messi’s in the history of football,” Ronaldo told Piers Morgan. (via Reuters)
“But I want to have the most Ballon d’Or awards in history. I think I have to win more, seven or eight be above him,” he said.
“I’d love it, I think I deserve it.”
Ronaldo also has five UEFA Champions League winners’ medals and led Portugal to victory at the 2016 UEFA European Championship and 2019 UEFA Nations League tournaments.
