Coach Abdallah dumps NPFL side Katsina Utd

Usman Abdallah has resigned as head coach of Katsina United in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

Last month, Abdallah led the Chanji Boys to NPFL promotion in Asaba but the club’s management chose not to renew his contract.

Abdallah, who is also one of the Super Eagles’ assistant coaches, was named in May of last year. Previously, he was the manager of Kano Pillars and Enyimba.

Meanwhile, Surajo Baba Malumfashi, the Chairman of Katsina United Football Club, has appointed Coach Tony Tope Bolus as the Club’s Technical Adviser on a two-year deal.

Bolus holds professional coaching certifications such as the UEFA C Diploma 2022, NNF, CAF License Coaching Course 2016, and TIKI TAKA License Coaching Course 2015.

Bolus also attended the National Institute for Sports in Lagos, Nigeria in 2012 and the Fushion Football College USA online course in 2010.

From 2004 to 2014, the new Katsina United Fc Technical Adviser was a head coach of different football teams in Nigeria, serving as Technical Adviser of Giwa Fc Jos, 2015 (NPFL), Malumfashi Fc 2016-2017, and Head Coach Mountain of Fire Fc (MFM FC) 2019.

Coach Tony Tope’s major achievements include the Lagos State F.A Cup winner in 2021, the NPFL winner as an assistant coach in Rangers International in 2017 and two Coach of the Month awards in GIWA FC in 2015, to name a few.

The 2023/24 Nigeria Professional Football League season will commence on Saturday, August 26.
