Bayelsa Queens seek fan support, prayers as new NWFL season approaches

The former champions of the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL), Bayelsa Queens have made a heartfelt appeal to their fans to provide spiritual support as they gear up for the upcoming 2023-2024 season.

The team’s first match will be against the newly promoted side, Sunshine Queens, at the Akure Township Stadium on Matchday one.

The group they have been drawn into, Group B, has been dubbed the “group of death” due to the formidable teams it comprises, including defending champions Delta Queens, former champions Rivers Angels, Remo Stars, Robo Queens, Edo Queens, Ekiti Queens, and Delta Queens.

In Group A, Nassarawa Amazons, Heartland Queens, Confluence Queens, Adamawa Queens, Naija Ratels, Royal Queens, Dannaz Ladies, and Abia Angels will be competing.

Appealing to the fans, the Prosperity girls said, “We are ready to take on the challenge of the new season! Here are our fixtures for the first round of the NWFL Premiership 2023/24.

“We need your support and prayers as we face some tough opponents in our quest to make history. Let’s show them what BayelsaQueens are made of, ” the team said on social media.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL), Nkechi Obi, has promised that the NWFL board have plans for Players welfare.
