Bianca Andreescu of Canada battled back to defeat Garbine Muguruza of Spain 0-6, 7-6 (3), 6-1 on Sunday in the opening round of the Adelaide International.
After falling behind 0-6, 2-5, Andreescu pulled off a spectacular comeback to defeat Muguruza, the two-time major champion, in 2 hours, 12 minutes.
Against Muguruza, who was formerly ranked first, Andreescu extended her head-to-head record to 3-0.
Andreescu admitted that he had to drastically alter his strategy in the second set.
