Despite losing the Africa’s prestigious crown, the Super Eagles Captain, Vincent Enyeama, has sent congratulatory message to Yaya Toure for emerging the winner of the award a record fourth-time consecutively.
The Lille of France shot-stopper gave his heartfelt congratulatory message shortly after the Ivorian was unveiled the 2014 winner of the award.
“I’m not a bad loser. I agree with the choice of Yaya Toure because he deserves it.”
“He’s done pretty well with his club, Manchester City, in the English Premier League and the Champions League. So, I want to say big congratulations to him.”
“I’m only pained that Nigeria would not be at the Nations Cup but that is football and I believe we would definitely bounce back.”
According to CAF website, Enyeama polled 105 votes to place third behind Yaya Toure, who got 175 vote and Gabonese striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, with 115 votes by national team coaches and captains.
