The Oga ndi Oga Foundation(ONOF), a non-for-profit organisation with interest in the development, empowerment and prosperity of women in Africa has begun the distribution of food nationwide to help the government towards curbing the spread of Corona Virus or COVID-19 in the country.
According to the founder, Chief Eloka Godwin Agbasimelo, a known businessman and philanthropist, this gesture is part of activities to also mark the celebration of Easter by the Christendom on Sunday.
The foundation donated one thousand bags of rice, one thousand, 1 thousand cartons of tomatoes, 1 thousand tubers of yam, 1 thousand cartons of groundnut oil, 600 bags of garri and other essential materials needed to help all the people of Nnewi South comprising of 5 communities living in Lagos to get through lockdown period in the state
Agbasimelo aka (Oga Ndi Oga) stated that the palliative are distributed people to ameliorate the suffering of these helpless but industrious people, who can no longer sell their market and engage in other daily income activities while adding that they should joined the government in combating in obeying the lockdown rule and taking precautionary measures.
‘’ I implore us all in Nnewi South (Ezinifite, Osumenyi, Utah, Akwaihedi Ebenator) and indeed Anambra State at large, to be proactive in the fight against #COVID-19 and to do the little that is required of us to assist the government as we match on to Victory against this pandemic. We shall surely overcome”.
Agbasimelo , who is also the Chariman of Goddosky Football Club called on the well-meaning Nigerians to support the government efforts.
“We use this opportunity to call on all prominent individuals, dignitaries, elected representatives, government officials and other well-meaning Nigerians to pitch in to ease the pain and suffering of our people in this period of hardship, in unity we shall conquer, God bless us all” he concluded.
