COVID-19: FCTA shuts down sports complex, Area 3 playing ground



The Acting Secretary Social Development Secretariat (SDS) in the Federal Capital Territory Administration, (FCTA) Chief Mrs. Dilichukwu Onyedinma has directed the temporary shutdown of all social activities in the FCT Sports Complex and Area 3 playing ground in Abuja.

Onyedinma in a statement said the decision to temporarily close the sporting facilities in Abuja was in line with the Hon   Minister of FCT on steps taking for a safer Abuja.

She further said the mentioned facilities will not be available for the public till further notice while appealing to residents of Abuja and sportsmen and women to stay calm and safe by practicing good personal hygiene and keeping social distance.

She also noted that it has become very imperative for every one of us in the sports family to stay safe and observe all necessary measures put in place for a safer Abuja.

The Acting Secretary however assured that the Federal Capital Territory Administration and other relevant agencies are working round the clock to ensure the elimination of the COVID-19 not only in Abuja but the entire country.
