Dakkada FC of Uyo have been held to a goalless draw by visiting Kwara United during the MatchDay 21 of the Nigeria Professional Football League today at the Nest of Champions.
The home side needed a victory to overtake sister club, Akwa United on the table just as the away side needed a point at least to gradually move farther away from relegation.
Kwara United started brightly with Issa Saidu and Ufere Chinedu running the show but were unable to make their early incursions count.
In the 21st minute, the home side had their own chance of opening scoring when Kwara goal keeper, Iwu Emmanuel failed to clear his line allowing Eso Archibong to lay a pass to Arinze Obuka whose attempt was blocked.
At the restart of the second half, both coaches made changes in a bid to fashion out a win.
Dakkada were the better team in the second half forcing Kwara Utd keeper, Iwu to making saves.
In the 80th minute, Iwu pulled off a superb save to deny Asuquo from giving the home team the lead.
With this, Dakkada moved to 5th position on 31 points from 22 games while Kwara Utd also moved to 14th position with 25 points from 21 games.
Meanwhile, Katsina United have been granted permission to allow fans to their home matches from today versus Abia Warriors.
The permission only allows fans into the grand (VIP) stands and NOT the popular stands while the League Management Company will monitor this for compliance.
