The chairman, Air Warriors Basketball club of Abuja, Solademi Abdulmajid has said his team will be going all out to make a groundbreaking statement in Lagos as they prepare to compete for the prestigious title of the 2019 Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball League.
The finals 8 of the competition is scheduled to take place at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Lagos from October 17 to 24, 2019.
It will be recalled that Air Warriors emerged the champions of the Savannah Conference competition held in Abuja, having defeated all seven oppositions to qualify for the National Finals on a high note.
“With resilience, hard work and God’s grace, I believe and I know our team will stand other teams to ensure we bring the trophy back to the North,” he said.
“We are not going there to represent club alone, We are going there to represent the Nigerian Air Force, the whole Abuja and the north specifically, so we need all the support, prayers so that we can emerge victorious in Lagos”.
He further stated that the team are putting finishing touches to their preparations to have a successful campaign.
“We have intensified preparations ahead of the games and also with the pedigrees our players and the technical crew, we will be ready to deliver the trophy” he added.
The two National finalists will qualify for the 2019 FIBA Africa Zone 3 Champions Cup qualifiers to be hosted in Cotonou, Benin Republic from October 28 to November 3.
