Radamel Falcao’s agent has hit out at Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal and says the striker will have plenty of top options should he elect to leave Old Trafford at the end of the season, UK’s Metro reports.
Falcao is on a season-long loan with United from French side Monaco, but could make the move permanent in the summer.
But following his form so far this season, an extended stay at Old Trafford looks unlikely, having scored just four goals in 17 appearances. And Falcao’s agent Jorge Mendes has hit out at Van Gaal and says things could have been a lot different if Sir Alex Ferguson was still at the helm.
‘He didn’t make a mistake when he chose Monaco. He is a champion. I miss [Sir Alex] Ferguson at Manchester United. With him and this squad the situation would be different,’ he said.
‘I know that if they give Falcao five complete matches, I am convinced that he would score goals in practically all of those matches.’ Mendes also says his client won’t be short of options should he opt to leave Man United in the summer.
‘If Falcao does not stay in Manchester, he will be at one of the other five or six best teams in the world,’ he added.
