CAFCC: Niger Tornadoes depart for Guinea for Santoba tie

Nigeria’s representative, Niger Tornadoes have departed for Guinea for the second leg of their first-round against Santoba FC in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The contingent, which is comprised of 18 players and 9 officials departed for Conkary from Muritala Mohammed International airport, Lagos.

“We are travel straightaway to Guinea for better preparations. We will train when we touched down in Conkary, and get ready to face Santoba FC on Friday. We have a lot to prove and that will be done on matchday.”

“We are well prepared for the game, knowing that it will tough out there, but we hope to get a decent result and qualify for the group stage.”

“We have called up 18 in-form players that will know will give us what we want in South Africa,” Coach Abubakar Bala.

It will be recalled Tornadoes lost 2-1 to Santoba before losing by the same scoreline to Nigeria National League (NNL) side 36 Lions and later drawing 2-2 with MFM on Monday

The game is scheduled on Friday at Conakry. If they progress against Santoba, Tornadoes would take on Ivorian club San Pedro, who were given a bye in the preliminary round.
