World Cycling championship: Nigeria to participate in 11 games


Nigerian Junior cycling team will be participating at the World Junior Cycling Track Championship in Germany according to Cycling Federation of Nigeria (CFN) president, Giandomenico Massari

The championship which begins on Wednesday, Aug. 14 will end on Sunday, Aug. 18.

In a statement signed by Federation’s media officer, Dorcas Jonah, the team which consist of four male cyclists and four women cyclists arrived Germany on Tuesday (yesterday).

Massari listed the event as Team Sprint, Team Pursue, Point Race, 1 km Time Trial, Time Sprint, Time Pursue, Scratch Race, Point Race, Kering, Omnium and Individual Pursue.

Shedrack Egundor, Okeyah Temple, Vitalis Bethel and Timileyn Johnson will compete in the male junior category while Ayuba Grace, Ernest Happiness, Samuel Mary and Yekin Taiwakalt will do the honours in the female junior category.

It will be recalled Nigeria won the 1st edition of Africa Cup Track 2019 held at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja last month.

Nigeria defeated seven other countries to emerged the champions with 21 gold 18silver and 12 bronze medals.
