Plateau United mourn Daily Trust reporter, Bashir Liman


The management of Plateau United Football Club of Jos has condoled Daily Trust Newspaper over the death of one of its dedicated journalists, Bashir Liman.

According to a statement signed by the Media Officer of the Club, Albert Dakup, the death of the young vibrant journalist, came to the team as a rude shock.

The statement quotes the General Manager of the Club, Pius Henwan describing Liman as a hardworking journalist who covered the club activities with an undying passion right from the team return to the Nigeria Professional Football League in 2016.

The General Manager while recalling with fond memories his contributions towards propagating the club to the world, urged his family to take his painful lost in good fate, stressing that God loves him most.

The statement also commiserates with the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, Plateau State Council and the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria SWAN over the great lost.

The club called on the two associations to see his demise as a necessary end to all mortals as the club also share in the grief.

Liman, 34 died Saturday evening in a ghastly motor accident along Ningi road while traveling to Jama’are in Bauchi State.

Until his death, Bashir was also a staff of the Ministry of Mining and Steel stationed in Plateau State.

He worked with Daily Trust as a freelance journalist contributing to all the Trust titles including the Hausa publication, Aminiya.
