CAF: Pillars narrowly escape defeat as Tornadoes smell defeat

Nigeria’s representative at the CAF Champions League Kano Pillars on Saturday narrowly avoided defeat to Ashante Kotoko.

The Aiteo Cup champions went ahead in 11th minute through Rahaqqu Yusuf only for the Ghana League champions to equalise and lead by 2-1.

Pillars came back into the game with a leveller to make it 2-2 before Gambo Mohammed put finishing touch to the remarkable come back scoring the third goal to seal victory for the Masu Gida.

Similarly, another Nigerian club side, Niger Tornadoes, lost 1-2 to visiting Guinea’s Santoba football club during Saturday’s CAF Confederation Cup match.

Also, Enyimba international football club lost away narrowly to Rahimo football club in Burkina Faso.

The match ended 1-0 in favour of homers Rahimo.
