“He was closely followed by Nigerian Francis Epe, winner of the just concluded South East Shootout Championship in June in Owerri who also shot a one under par 70,” he said.

Emeka Okatta, the President of the African Golf Tour told NAN that the Sagamu Cup championship was a four-round 72-par tournament.

“It has a prize purse of 25,000 dollars with the winner expected to pocket a whopping 4,000 dollars,”Okatta said.

Okatta explained that organisers of the tour were desirous of taking the game of golf to all nooks and crannies of the country in a bid to create more awareness of the sport among Nigerians, hence the need to stage it in Ogun.
