The program which is in its 14th edition is for children between the ages of 5 and 18 years began yesterday and will end on August 2, 2019.

According to the Lady Vice Captain and chairperson, organizing committee for this program, Maryrose Richard-Obioha said the motive behind the program was to catch them young.

“With this clinic, we hope to give some children handicap certificates that will help them compete in the junior golf. We hope to have improved the game of some people, we hope to get new comers interested in the game.

The motive is to catch them young. If you start playing golf early, you swing better and overtime your game will improve and never can say may turn out to be another Tiger Woods or even better,” she said.

A former Lady Captain of the club, Christy Adejoh also reechoed the submission of the chairperson.

“The essence of this program, the children golf academy every year is for us to help train the young ones in playing properly the game of golf. And also, to imbibe critical social skills that they will need for now and in their adult years.

“We believe we have engineered enough interest in them and their parents because some of them having been coming over the years,” she said.
