Edo govt gives Bendel Insurance domestic league target

The Edo Acting Governor, Philip Shaibu, has called on players of Bendel Insurance Football Club to adhere strictly to their coaches’ instructions, to enable the team to remain in the elite league.

Shaibu made the call on Friday in Benin after a training session with the players at the University of Benin Sports Complex.

According to him, “We should keep our individual skills in our pockets and play as a team; when we do that, definitely we will achieve our desired results.

“The outcome we got in our last match against Enyimba International FC was as a result of our hard work.

“I want you guys to win your matches one after the other; our target is to be among the best six teams.

“Our coach has a magic in winning play-offs, we came out the best in last season’s play-offs, and I don’t want us to struggle in the field of play,’’ Shaibu said.

He urged the players to keep the good form which they are currently playing in, adding that Gov. Godwin Obaseki was keen on putting smiles on their faces at all times.

The Bendel Insurance FC of Benin is fully owned by the Edo State Government.
