Man Utd Identifies Ancelotti As Van Gaal’s Successor

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti is being linked with Louis van Gaal’s job at Manchester United.

Marca says depending on how the season finishes, Van Gaal could leave the club this summer.

They also cite a link between United and Ancelotti which goes back to the Sir Alex Ferguson era.

The Scot reportedly identified Ancelotti as his ideal successor when he retired at the end of the 2012-13 season.

Ancelotti is under increased pressure at the Bernabeu after his side scraped through to the Champions League quarter-finals on Tuesday night.

Real were booed off after losing the second leg to Schalke and supporters waved handkerchiefs in protest of their team’s display.
